Job Description

RVC Inc. Attorneys is expanding its footprint into Plettenberg Bay and is seeking a fully admitted conveyancer to establish and grow its presence in the region. This is a unique hybrid role combining hands-on conveyancing work with active business development and relationship building within the local estate agent market.

The successful candidate will be the first on-the-ground legal presence for RVC in Plettenberg Bay and will play a key role in building long-term referral relationships with estate agencies, while being fully supported by RVC’s head office and existing operational teams.

This role is ideal for a conveyancer who enjoys both technical legal work and commercial relationship development.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

CONVEYANCING (±30% OF ROLE)

  • Managing end-to-end conveyancing matters, including:
    • Vetting agreements of sale.
    • Ensuring full legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintaining high standards of accuracy, turnaround times, and client service.
  • Collaborating with head office and supporting offices to ensure smooth processing and registration of matters.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & RELATIONSHIP BUILDING (±70% OF ROLE)

  • Actively building and maintaining strong relationships with estate agents and agencies in Plettenberg Bay and surrounding areas.
  • Acting as RVC’s local brand ambassador and primary conveyancing contact in the region.
  • Generating new conveyancing instructions through proactive engagement, networking, and relationship management.
  • Attending estate agency meetings, networking events, and industry functions.
  • Providing feedback on market trends, agent needs, and opportunities to the Business Development Manager.
  • Driving instruction growth with the aim of establishing a sustainable and scalable regional operation.

Education and Requirements

MANDATORY

  • Fully admitted attorney with conveyancing qualification.
  • Eligible and able to sign off conveyancing matters independently.
  • Proven conveyancing experience (residential transfers essential).

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Strong attention to detail and high compliance standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to identify and convert opportunities.
  • Confidence in engaging with estate agents and external stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of a region.

ADVANTAGEOUS

  • Prior experience working closely with estate agents.
  • Sales, business development, or relationship management exposure.
  • Experience in establishing or growing a regional practice.

 

Compensation Structure

  • Competitive basic salary.
  • Commission based on:
    • Conveyancing instructions received.
    • Matters registered.
  • Commission structure is capped and performance-driven
